Brief Description

Manage the provision of health & well-being of Qatar Foundation through Occupational Health Programs in line with Health laws and regulations of the State of Qatar and internationally recognized standards.

Detailed Description

  • Manage provision of an efficient, high-quality advisory Occupational Health (OH) service for Qatar Foundation Workforce to ensure compliance with responsibilities imposed by health and safety legislation, whilst maximizing and promoting the health of all staff, as well as minimizing the possibility of cases of occupational ill-health developing.
  • Formulate, implement, and evaluate policies and strategies for health protection and surveillance of the workforce, to meet legislative requirements and promote employee’s health and well-being in line with national health strategies.
  • Manage and lead the Occupational Health team to develop their capability, while mentoring them to meet the current and future requirements and objectives of the Occupational Health Department.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate methods and processes for gathering, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data and information of Occupational Health Services for continued improvement.
  • Communicate trends and advise on action plans to meet statutory and voluntary requirements for health protection, surveillance, and statutory reporting.
  • Contribute and assign to the provision of training and advice to Pre-employment medical screening, immunizations, first aid medical care for work-related injuries/illnesses, health surveillance, vaccinations, sickness absence management, investigations of cases of occupational ill health, and other general Occupational Health issues.
  • Actively participate in implementing and monitoring Qatar Foundation Health, Safety, and Environment Management System.
  • Commissioning and inducting the expanded/ extended standby emergency medical services within the Education City Community Housing complex and managing them on an ongoing basis.
  • Evolving a meaningful and suitable Business-Plan for the Occupational Health function aligning well with the vision and business plan of the ‘Qatar Foundation’ and then proposing an accurate and authentic Budget to execute it.
  • Ensure Occupational Health-related systems and programs are well-coordinated, resources assigned and scheduled in an efficient professional manner in accordance with Qatar Foundation and internationally recognized standards. He will be responsible for the development of pertinent Occupational Health policies, procedures & programs in line with Health laws and regulations of the State of Qatar.
  • Other reasonable tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Medical –degree Bachelors with a specialty in Occupational Health medicine
  • Practical experience of a minimum of 8-10 years in clinical & management fields.
  • The successful candidate will have completed a post-graduate qualification in Occupational Health/ Industrial Medicine/ Industrial Hygiene or a related discipline and must have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates must demonstrate computer literacy with knowledge of and ability to use appropriate industry software.
  • The position requires strong organizational, planning, budgeting, coordination, negotiating, and scheduling skills.
  • Experience with working in a major organization/ institute supervising the Occupational Health systems and services for a large number of employees.
  • Knowledge of Facilities Management operations.
  • Experienced in analyzing complex occupational health data with a variety of contributing and confounding factors and studying the trends therefrom.
  • Conversant with the advanced and enriching concepts of the OHMS (Occupational Health Management System) and its application in systematizing and integrating all the Health-related information and records.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Effective communication skills in both written and verbal English.
  • Advocacy, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Team building and capable of interfacing at a variety of management levels.
  • Organizational abilities.
  • Leadership skills in a diversified cultural work unit.
